Just realized the 2 hour DMV line for my out of state title transfer was my own fault
I showed up at the Sacramento DMV on a Tuesday with no appointment thinking it would be quick, and 2 hours later a clerk told me I needed a VIN check first which is a whole separate line. Has anyone else gotten stuck doing the inspection before the paperwork instead of after?

Watched my buddy do the exact same thing last month. Drove an hour to the DMV, waited forever, then found out the VIN check was a totally different line in the parking lot. He was so mad he just went home.
