Just realized open vs enclosed trailer for my move from Phoenix to Denver wasn't even close
I moved my 2016 Tacoma from Phoenix to Denver last spring and got quotes for both an open and an enclosed trailer, about $850 versus $1,400. I went with the open one to save cash (my truck is a daily driver, nothing fancy) and it showed up with a cracked windshield from a rock kicked up somewhere on I-25. A guy at the drop lot told me he only hauls enclosed now after a hail storm in Amarillo dinged up three cars on one run. So here's the debate: is the extra $500 for enclosed actually insurance against stuff like this, or am I just paying for peace of mind? Curious what you all do when it's a car you actually care about.
