A dispatcher in Phoenix told me my pickup windows were killing drivers, and she was right
I used to book every carrier pickup for 8am to 10am because it worked around my morning coffee and paperwork, and I figured a window that tight kept guys from dragging their feet. Then a dispatcher out of Phoenix chewed me out over the phone and said my two hour slots meant drivers sat at the yard burning fuel and losing their next load, so I switched to four hour windows and started calling the shop the day before to confirm the car was actually ready to roll. Has anyone else had a broker or dispatcher push back on how you set pickup times, and did a wider window really cut down your no-shows?
