My torque wrench lied to me for a year in Tulsa

Last month I chased a weird brake noise on a 2014 F-150 for three visits. Turned out I had been under torquing the caliper bracket bolts the whole time because my Snap-on digital torque wrench was reading low after a drop in the shop. I only caught it when I borrowed a buddy's beam style wrench and got a different click at 85 ft lbs. Replaced the wrench with a split beam model, but now I check it against the beam wrench every quarter. Anyone else trust digital too much until it bites them?
