A customer in Phoenix said my shop smelled like a parts store, not a garage

Honestly, this guy came in last month and told me straight up the chemical smell from the parts cleaner was giving him a headache. I always thought that was just how a real shop should smell. Tbh, I switched to a citrus based degreaser and started opening the bay doors more. Ngl, it costs a bit more but the air is way better. Has anyone else gotten complaints about shop smells and found a good fix?

Yeah, we had a few people mention the solvent smell was strong. Switched to a low odor parts washer fluid and run a big fan near the door now. It made a huge difference, and honestly I don't miss the old fumes at all.

I used to think that smell meant we were working hard, but the citrus degreaser really changed my mind.

Wait, isn't that smell just the solvent breaking down?
