Why does nobody talk about the old guy who taught me to clay bar in a Kroger parking lot
Back around 2011 I was wiping down my Tacoma at the Kroger on Lamar in Austin and this older guy in a beat up Silverado pulled up next to me. He watched me for a minute and then said "son, your paint feels like sandpaper, you're just smearing the dirt around" and handed me a chunk of clay from his toolbox. He walked me through the baggie test and lube and didn't want anything for it, just told me to pass it on someday. These days every youtube detailer has a 20 minute video on claying and it feels like we lost something in that. What's the best tip a stranger ever handed you in a parking lot?
