I got worse results after switching to a foam cannon, here's why
Everyone hypes foam cannons for paint prep, but after 4 months in Phoenix with hard water, my panels had more spotting than my old two-bucket hand wash. The foam dried too fast in 105 degree heat before I could rinse. Has anyone else in dry climates ditched theirs and gone back to basic methods?

What was your dwell time like before you started rinsing? Even in that heat you might get away with doing one panel at a time and not letting it sit at all. Curious if you tried shading the car or working early morning before ditching it.
