Detailers obsess over wax while their car sits under a tree dropping sap all summer
I watched a guy at the Charlotte cars and coffee spend 40 minutes buffing his hood while parked directly under a pine tree, and by the time he drove off there was already fresh sap beading up on the clear coat. People in this hobby keep buying $60 sealants and then act shocked when their paint gets etched, but the real issue is where the car sits for 8 hours a day, not what you rub on it once a month. Am I the only one who thinks we should talk about parking spots way more than products?
The "real issue is where the car sits for 8 hours a day" line is dead on, and I read somewhere that sap and bird bombs do way more harm than any wax can prevent. You can polish all day but you can't out-buff a pine tree.
