My shop's workload doubled after they installed that traffic circle down the street
Now I'm ordering more bumper covers and adhesive than ever before, and I'm curious if this is a common issue elsewhere.

Remember hearing about a town that put in a roundabout and had to add extra signs because people kept driving over the center island... like full on mounting the curb. Makes me think @taylor.betty is onto something about the design being part of it. People just freeze up or guess wrong when things are new and they have to yield. My cousin's insurance went up just because he lives near one now, says the company told him it's a known hotspot. Maybe the circles work in theory but the switchover period is just pure chaos for local body shops.

Seen a similar jump in repairs near our local roundabout. @baker.pat might be right about bad merging, but these circles confuse people. We get at least two fender benders a week from that intersection alone. It's not just random, the design forces quick decisions not everyone can handle.

Not convinced that traffic circle is the whole story here. Maybe it's just random, or folks are worse at merging than ever (seriously, seen it myself). Doubt it's a big issue everywhere, more like local bad luck.
