Why does nobody warn you about the rear axle nut on a 2004 Rancher
Last Saturday I was doing a routine brake job on my 2004 Honda Rancher in the garage and the rear axle nut was torqued so tight from the factory that my 1/2 inch breaker bar just rounded the corners off. I ended up spending 3 hours with a grinder and a cold chisel in 90 degree heat while my buddy kept telling me to just hit it with heat, which I did not want to do near the gas tank. Has anyone else run into this on older utility quads, and is there a trick to getting that nut off without wrecking the axle threads?
