Vent: found out my 2004 Honda Rancher only puts 14.5 hp to the wheels, and I spent $600 chasing a power problem that was never there
I was poking around a spec sheet on an old forum last night and saw that my 2004 Rancher 350 was rated around 14 hp at the wheels from the factory. I had been fighting this thing for a while, new jet kit, opened up the air box, dropped $200 on a slip on pipe, probably $600 total in parts, all because I was sure it was running rich and down on power. Felt like a moron when it clicked that I was just feeling the same 14 hp it always had. Anyone else ever sink money into a quad chasing power that a 300 class machine was never built to make?
