Vent: My drone decided to take a swim in Lake Michigan last weekend

I was flying my DJI Mini near the pier in Muskegon, trying to get a cool sunset shot, when a gust of wind just shoved it straight into the water. It sank in about 3 seconds, no chance to recover it. I stood there for a minute just staring at the ripples, then walked back to my truck and sat in silence for a bit. Has anyone else had a pricey hobby fail like that, or am I the only one dumb enough to fly that close to open water?
