Spent $50 on a fancy router bit set then realized a cheap chamfer bit does 90% of the work
I was overcomplicating edge profiles for months on my cabinet builds. A $12 chamfer bit from the hardware store handles all my trim work now, and I barely touch the expensive set. Anyone else find a single tool that replaced a whole collection?

overcomplicating edge profiles" is exactly what I was doing too. I read somewhere that a lot of those fancy router bits are just for show, and it really clicked for me. I bought a set of roundover bits and barely used half of them. Now my go-to is a simple flush trim bit, it handles all my pattern work and even some edge cleanup on plywood. That cheap chamfer bit sounds like a great call for cabinets, might have to grab one for my next project.

Totally agree @olivia573, a chamfer bit is all you really need for cabinets.
