Took 11 months to fix a clock that only lost time in July
My grandmother's 1962 Seth Thomas wind-up runs perfectly 11 months of the year but loses 14 minutes every July, and after replacing the mainspring, demagnetizing the escapement, and rebuilding the barrel I finally found the issue was the brass bushing swelling from summer humidity in Cincinnati, anyone else had a seasonal clock mystery that took forever to crack?
