TIL the wayback machine saved my ass on a deleted forum thread
Back in 2016 I was trying to find a specific post about reverse image searching for old band flyers, someone on a music board had walked through their whole method step by step. The thread got nuked when the site migrated, but I dug up a cached version through the wayback machine three months later. The person who wrote it, username something like neonvinyl, had included a weird trick about using EXIF data from the flyer scan to narrow down the city. I still use that method every time I'm hunting down a show poster for a friend. Has anyone else had luck pulling dead forum gems out of old caches, or is it just me?
