Parking garage trick that saved me 40 minutes near the courthouse
Last Tuesday I had jury duty at the Arlington courthouse and drove around the Wilson Blvd lots for like 25 minutes before giving up. Then an old guy in a pickup told me to try the underground garage on N. Uhle St after 9am, they only charge $2 for the first hour if you pay on the app instead of the machine. I checked it out, paid through the ParkMobile app, and walked straight to the metal detector with zero line at the entrance. The machine price on the sign said $6 so the app discount is real, and the app lets you extend from your phone without going back down. Has anyone else used that garage or found another cheap lot near the courthouse that isn't a walk from 3 miles away?
I read somewhere that the courthouse folks quietly extended the first hour rate on that garage through the summer, so you lucked out on timing. Also, heads up, that app discount only works if you pay before you pull into a spot, otherwise it charges you the full machine price.
