Paid $300 for a parking spot finder app that just sent me to full lots

Downloaded SpotHero for a Caps game last month. App said a garage in Rosslyn had 40 spots. Got there, lot was full. Drove around for 25 minutes, ended up paying $40 at a random lot by the courthouse. The app refunded me but the game traffic was brutal after. Is it just me or are these apps always behind on real-time data? Anyone have a go-to garage near the arena that actually holds spaces?

Have you tried parking further out and taking the Metro in? I found a garage in Crystal City that almost always has spots, and the Blue Line drops you right at the arena. It cost me $12 for a whole evening, way less than anything close to the arena.
