Update: I began mapping every find with GPS instead of just notes. It pins locations exactly, but my crew thinks it's overkill for small sites.

This method has totally changed how we track artifact clusters! Yet some say it eats up field time we could use digging. Where do you fall on tech use in digs?

GPS for small sites? Your crew must love drawing maps by hand in the rain. How do they react when the GPS proves their sketch wrong?

Honestly the crew just laughs when the GPS glitches and puts a fence line in a lake. Tbh it makes @allen.amy's point about old methods seeming sane sometimes. They usually just go with the paper version until the tech sorts itself out.
