Question about that 4,000 year old tablet that got smashed at the Baghdad museum
Ngl I watched a doc last week about the Iraq museum looting in 2003 and it wrecked me, all those clay tablets from 2000 BC cracked into pieces because nobody had a real catalog of what was even in the storage rooms. I keep wondering how much of that stuff could've been saved if they'd just taken 20 minutes to photograph the shelves first. Has anyone here worked a site where the records were so bad you basically had to guess what you were digging up?
