I used to think animal bones at digs were just trash

I always figured bones were leftovers from meals and not that important. But a talk on cut marks showing tool use made me see them differently. Now I get how they tell us about hunting and skills back then. That really shifted how I look at site reports. What piece of evidence changed your opinion on something?

Great, now I have to rethink my entire life of dismissing old bones as junk lmao.

My third-year archaeology professor showed us a tooth fragment under a microscope. I had called it junk, but the wear patterns proved it was an early dental tool. Now I feel @rowan_allen's pain every time I open a site report.
