Just noticed a huge difference in a red oak I've been watching for 3 years
I've been keeping an eye on this red oak in a client's yard over on Elm Street since 2022. It had this weird lean and was dropping branches every storm, really stressed out. Last spring I did a deep root fertilization and a careful crown reduction, took off maybe 15% of the canopy. Fast forward to now and the canopy is way fuller, no more random branch drops, and the lean actually looks less severe. Has anyone else seen big changes from root feeding alone or was it more the pruning that did it?

Been 3 years" huh... I've got a maple that's been dropping leaves way early for like five years now.

Heard a gardening guy say stressed trees drop leaves early. Might be that @the_amy
