Climbing spurs tore up my favorite boots until I tried hockey tape on the shanks
Three years ago in Bend I wrapped the metal shanks on my spurs with hockey tape after a guy at a saw shop mentioned it, and my boots stopped getting chewed up along the instep. Cheap fix, redo it once a season, and the grip on wet bark actually got better. Anyone else taping their spurs or is there a better way to save the leather?
