A sinkhole from stump work changed my view on removal

I handled a case where a tree stump was ground down. Months later, the yard developed a noticeable dip. The reason was decaying roots that left empty spaces in the soil. Now I suggest leaving stumps to break down naturally when possible. Isn't it safer to avoid disturbing the ground too much?

Safer removal? Your yard disagrees.

Remember when we tried planting that tree, @tessa_hernandez4? We found an old pipe buried two feet down!

Our sinkhole showed up after eight months... natural decay is slower but safer.
