Worst service call I've had in years

Last Tuesday I drove 45 minutes to a house in Omaha for a fridge that wasn't cooling. Got there and the guy had the coils caked with dog hair so thick you couldn't see the metal. Cleaned it out, compressor kicked right on. Then he argued I was charging too much for a 10 minute fix. Told me next time he'd just watch YouTube. Charged him $95 for the trip and left. Has anyone else had customers fight you over the price of basic maintenance?

Oh man, that's the worst. I had a guy last month argue with me for 20 minutes because I charged him $120 to unclog his AC drain line. He was like "I could do that with a shop vac." I just said "okay, have fun crawling under your house in July" and left. Some people just don't get that they're paying for the trip, the knowledge, and the tools not just the 5 minutes of work.

max, I gotta say the shop vac thing isn't totally wrong for some simple clogs. But the second it's a clog deep in the line or in the slab, a shop vac's not gonna touch it. Still, your point stands most people don't factor in having the right tools and knowing when a shop vac won't cut it.
