Walked into a supply house in Dayton and saw a tech pay $18 for a dryer belt
I get convenience, but that same belt is $6 online and he had a whole van of parts already. Are you all padding tickets with markup or is there a reason to buy belts retail?
Man come on, you ever had a belt snap on a Friday afternoon with the customer already mad and the van needs to roll? That $18 belt just saved you a 30 minute drive across town and two hours of lost work. The supply house has rent, staff, and shelves full of stuff nobody buys, so yeah the markup is baked in and everyone knows it. Buying online is great until you need it today and shipping takes two days. Plus that tech might be grabbing it on the company card and billing it straight to the ticket, which is way less hassle than tracking receipts. Sometimes paying extra to keep moving is the smart move, not padding.
