Saw a repair bench at a flea market in Ohio with every screw sorted in baby food jars
Stopped at the flea market off Route 40 near Springfield last Saturday and one booth was a retired guy selling off his whole shop. What caught my eye was his bench, not the tools. He had about 60 baby food jars screwed under the top shelf, lids nailed to the wood, each jar holding one size of screw or washer. He told me he ran a shop for 26 seasons and never once lost time digging for a part. I stood there a while just looking at it. The whole thing cost him nothing, just a drill and a box of jars from his grandkids. I passed on the bench but I did buy two of his old nut drivers for 8 bucks. Now I keep seeing those jar lids in my head while I dig through my own coffee cans. Any of you still use the jar trick or did everybody move to those plastic bin racks?
