I finally got a callback from a customer I helped 8 years ago
Back in 2016 I fixed a washer for an older lady in Green Bay, just a bad belt on a Whirlpool. She called me yesterday out of the blue to say the machine finally died and she wanted me to look at it. Told me she kept using it because I said it would last a few more years. Anyone else have a customer remember a repair that long?

Man, it's wild how people remember stuff like that. You don't think about it when you're just doing your job, but for them it's a big deal. It hits on something bigger, I've noticed. In a world where everything is disposable and everyone is in a rush, being the one person who actually takes the time to do something right is almost a lost art. People latch onto that because it's so rare now. That's why she held onto that machine and called you years later - she trusted you.

Read an article about how service techs are like doctors for appliances, people remember the ones who fixed things right. Sounds like you made a real impression on her, that's a nice feeling.
