Am I the only one who thought a fridge not cooling just meant low freon?
Had a call in Mesa last Tuesday, lady's fridge was 58 degrees and she was sure it just needed a recharge. Spent 10 minutes pulling the back panel and found the condenser coils packed with 6 years of dog hair, cleaned them and it was back to 37 by dinner. Ray told me years ago that 8 out of 10 no-cool calls are airflow or a bad start relay, not gas, and it finally clicked. What's your go to first check before you even touch a gauge?
