TIL I've watched over 400 anime series by accident

I was just messing around with my MyAnimeList account last week, updating some scores and cleaning up my dropped list. Then I noticed the total count at the top said 412 completed series and I had to double check. I honestly didn't think I'd hit 200, let alone over 400. Most of it came from those 12-episode seasonal shows I binge over a weekend without thinking. I started really tracking back in 2016 when I got serious about anime, so that averages out to maybe 50 shows a year. That number surprised me because I don't feel like a super hardcore watcher, I just watch stuff while I eat or do paperwork for my moving business. Has anyone else checked their total and been caught off guard by how much they've actually seen?

Wait, @eric_carr, what's your average rating across those 289 shows? I calculated mine after I hit 412 and it came out to a 6.8. That made me wonder if I'm too generous or just picking better shows. Were most of your 289 from recent seasons too, or did you go back and watch older stuff?

Actually that math might be a LITTLE off. 50 shows a year from 2016 to now would be about 450, but you said 412. That extra 50 shows over 9 years adds up to more like 45-46 a year. But honestly that's still a LOT of anime. I checked my own MAL last month and hit 289 and I almost choked on my coffee. The worst part is realizing how many 6/10 shows are in there that I barely remember watching.
