Showerthought: I was pronouncing 'JoJo' wrong for like a year

I kept saying it like 'Joe-Joe' until a friend, while we were watching part 3, just looked at me and said, 'It's 'Jo-Jo,' you know, like the reference.' I felt my whole anime-watching identity crumble for a second. Has anyone else had a basic anime term they totally butchered?

Oh man, that's a solid one. But seriously, what other terms did you get wrong? I've heard people say "Naruto" with a hard 't' like it's some kind of fancy bread, or call "Ghibli" "Jib-lee" for years. Did your friend's correction at least come with a look of pure pity?

Honestly used to say "anime" like "ann-ime" for years. Friend just stared at me like I'd grown a second head before explaining it's "ah-nih-may." Felt like a total idiot but hey, at least I know now.
