Dub vs sub debate got flipped on me when I watched a show I hated
I forced myself to watch the dub of a show I usually despise to prove a point, and somehow the voice acting made me enjoy it, so which side is actually right about quality dictating preference or is it all just random?

You said "bad acting can be charming" but what if the dub just made the whole thing feel like a different genre? Like, a serious show with cheesy voice acting turns into a comedy, and suddenly you're vibing with it. Would you still call that a win for the dub or just a lucky accident?

Is it really that deep though? Like, you hated a show, the dub made it more fun, and now you're questioning the whole sub vs. dub war? I've seen the reverse happen where a bad dub ruins a good show, so it's not like quality is some fixed thing. Sometimes bad acting can be charming, and good acting can make boring dialogue tolerable. You just found one random case, not a universal law.
