Can we talk about how people spoil anime endings in forum thread titles?

I used to just hop into any anime discussion thread on Reddit without a second thought, reading through the comments before I even finished a show. Then about 2 months ago, someone posted a thread titled 'Why [Character Name] dies in episode 12 really makes sense' and boom, my whole experience with that series got ruined. Now I always sort by 'new' first and skim the first 3 words of every title before clicking, double checking the episode I'm on. Has anyone else had a big series spoiled this way?

Is it really that bad though? I mean, if you're that far behind on a show, why are you even browsing the subreddit for it in the first place? I usually just stay off the internet entirely until I finish a season, then I go read all the spoilers at once.

Yeah evanpalmer saying "how bad is it really" is pretty wild. I had Attack on Titan ruined the exact same way with someone posting "Eren's real motive revealed in episode 80" right in the title. Now I don't even join those subs until I've seen the finale. One careless title can wreck 50 hours of watching.
