Buddy at work told me to skip episode 47 of One Piece and I almost took his advice
I'm on my first watch through and this coworker kept saying episode 47 was just filler and a waste of time. I almost skipped it but decided to watch it anyway since I had a slow shift at the station that night. Turned out that episode had a key moment about Zoro's promise to Kuina that gets referenced like 5 times later in the series. Has anyone else had someone give you bad skip advice on a long running show?

Bad advice ruins whole shows. Never skip anything on first watch.

What makes you so sure the director intended you to sit through every boring part? Some shows have filler episodes that kill your momentum and make you drop the whole thing. Isn't skipping one bad episode better than quitting the show entirely?
