Pro tip: my photo teacher at Ohio University said never trust a light meter in snow, and she was dead right
She told us back in 2009 that shooting a bright snowy field fools the meter every time, so overexpose by a stop or two. I ignored her for two winters and got gray soup instead of white snow on three rolls of Portra. Last January in Boulder I finally listened, shot at plus 1.5 stops, and every frame came out clean. Anyone else have a shooting rule you blew off for way too long before it clicked?
