I finally switched from a 50mm to a 35mm for street portraits
Spent six months fighting with a 50mm lens trying to get full body shots in tight alleys downtown, and the 35mm just let me step closer without cropping feet. Anyone else make a similar focal length switch and feel like it opened up a new way of shooting?

Made the same switch two years ago. Suddenly I could actually fit a person and their environment in the frame without hugging the nearest brick wall. The 50mm made me feel like a paparazzi trying to catch celebrities from across a parking lot. Now I just walk up, take the shot, and don't have to apologize to anyone for backing into their coffee cup. It basically turned street portraits from a math problem into something that actually works.
