I stopped using a smart thermostat 2 winters ago after my gas bill hit $340 in January.

Switched back to a manual dial and a daily routine of checking the windows and closing off unused rooms, and my average winter bill dropped to $185 over the last two seasons - anyone else notice their fancy tech was actually costing them more?
