Rant: my neighbor swore I didn't need a permit for the swamp cooler swap, and now the city is at my door
He has lived in his place near Eubank for 20 years and said everyone just swaps them out without paperwork, so I listened and put the new unit on the roof myself last month. Now code enforcement left a notice on my door and the fine is $300, and of course he is nowhere to be found. Has anyone fought one of these and actually won, or am I just paying it?
