Unpopular opinion: keypads are dying and half of you are still running wire for them
Did a walkthrough last month in Chandler for a guy who wanted a keypad in all four entry points, and when I asked when he last pressed one he couldn't remember. Half the techs I know still pull 22/4 to every door like it's 2005, while the other half say app only is the future and keypads are just a backup for when wifi drops. Which side are you on, and what are you actually installing in new builds right now?

My sister still has a landline just in case, and she hasnt answered it in probably three years. Same energy as the keypad guy. People keep stuff around for a version of themselves that doesnt exist anymore, the one who remembers codes and checks things on the way out. Meanwhile every new build I walk into has a video doorbell and a phone in every pocket. I still pull wire to one main door because its cheap insurance, but four keypads is just paying to install clutter. Put one where the garage guy actually walks in and call it done.
