Rant: A customer in Austin insisted on mounting their keypad right next to the front door.

I installed a system for them last month and explained it was a bad spot, but they wanted it there anyway. Now they're calling because the motion sensor keeps going off every time someone walks in. What's your go-to line to convince people about proper keypad placement without sounding pushy?

My buddy had the same thing happen. He put a keypad right by a patio door and the family kept getting false alarms from their own dog. He ended up moving it down the hall for them after the third service call. Sometimes you just have to let them live with the mistake once to see why the rules exist.

Why not just let them learn the hard way like jade47's friend did?

But that just wastes everyone's time, lol.
