Just found out our torque wrenches need recert way more often than I thought
Was flipping through the maintenance manual for our hangar in Phoenix last shift and saw the calibration interval on the torque wrenches is 90 days, not the yearly thing I assumed. I've been using the same Snap-on since March and it's been over 150 days. Checked the tag and sure enough it expired back in August. Has anyone else had their shop miss this or am I the only one who never looked?

...and that's the thing, right? We treat all the little checklists and expiration dates as suggestions until something actually fails, then we scramble. Its like my home smoke detector, I only remember to test it when i burn toast, not because the calendar told me to. Your torque wrench is way more critical than that though, 90 days feels aggressive but if its in the manual its probably there for a reason. I bet half the guys in your hangar are walking around with expired tools and nobody has said a word because we all just assume someone else is keeping track. Its wild how much we trust our gear without actually trusting the paperwork behind it.
