Faced pressure to skip a safety check
The crew wanted to move fast on a turnaround. I held firm and found a loose bolt that could have failed.

Hey, when you talked about facing pressure to skip that safety check, it really hit home. I mean, I was just reading about how in some jobs, people get pushed to cut corners for speed. Idk, maybe it's just me but that loose bolt you found shows why we can't give in. The article said most accidents happen from overlooked small things like that. It's scary how common it is to focus on speed instead of safety. Good on you for holding firm, honestly.

Tell them to read the accident reports.

For real, that pressure is no joke. I've been there too. What I do is always point out the worst case if we skip the check. Like with your loose bolt, think about if that came off during use. It helps to show the risk to those wanting to go fast. Standing your ground might feel tough now, but it saves a lot of trouble later.
