Dropped my battered chicken into the basket vs using parchment paper
I tried tossing my chicken straight into the greased basket and it stuck like crazy, then switched to parchment paper with tiny holes punched in it and everything came out crispy and slid right off - has anyone tried the silicone liner instead?

Why do I feel like everything works better when you just put in a little extra prep?

rubyj11 nailed it with the "little extra prep" thing. The tiny effort of cutting parchment and punching holes makes a huge difference in the end. I tried a silicone liner once and it just didn't get the same crunch as the parchment method. Plus cleaning silicone is annoying when oil gets baked on. So yeah, I'd say it's worth the extra minute to prep the parchment.
