Tried two different AI detection tools on my kid's essay and the results were wildly different
I ran my daughter's 800 word history essay through two AI detection tools just to see what would happen, and one flagged it as 94% AI generated while the other said 12%, which made me realize how unreliable these things still are. After digging into how each one works, the first tool was basically looking at word patterns while the second one was trained on actual student writing from places like Stanford and it picked up on the fact that she writes in a pretty formal style for a 15 year old. So my question is, has anyone found a detector that actually gives consistent results, or are we all just guessing at this point?
