The number that got me: my dad's shop ran 4 estimates a week, an AI tool just did 4 in an hour
My dad ran a small cabinet shop in Modesto for 22 years and 4 written estimates a week was a solid pace for him. Last Tuesday my nephew fed a stack of photos and rough measurements into one of those AI takeoff tools and it spat out 4 full estimates with cut lists before our coffee went cold. I sat there staring at the screen because that was a whole week of my dad's evenings at the kitchen table. I'm still not sold on trusting the numbers without checking them by hand, one wrong cabinet depth and you eat the cost. Has anyone else watched a tool eat a chunk of their workday like that, and did you end up trusting it or double checking everything anyway?
