My chatbot kept replying to the wrong customer after I pushed a prompt update on a Friday
Last Friday I pushed a small prompt tweak to our support bot at work in Austin, and by Saturday morning it was answering questions from the wrong chat session about 1 in 20 times. I rolled back the update that afternoon and added a check that tags each session ID before the model sees it, which fixed the mixups. Has anyone else hit this ghost session problem when updating prompts in production?
Man, I read a post from a dev on some forum who had this exact thing happen after a Friday deploy. Turns out the cache was holding onto old session keys after the prompt change, so the bot mixed up who was who until it cleared. The fix was pretty much what you did, stamping the session at the start so the model can't grab the wrong one. Timing matters too, since a Friday push gives you no real window to catch it before the weekend rush. Glad the rollback and tag check got you sorted.
