AI music tools won me over after I fought them for months

I used to think AI song generators were just gimmicks, all hype and no soul. Then my band needed a demo done in 3 days for a gig in Portland and our producer bailed last minute. I fed Suno a few rough chord ideas and a vocal line from my phone, and it spat out a mix that actually captured the vibe we wanted. We took that track, re-recorded the guitar parts over it, and the final version sounded way closer to our live sound than anything we'd tracked before. The timing and bass layering were just tighter than what we could do in a cramped practice room. Has anyone else used AI to sketch out ideas and then finished them with real instruments, or are we weird for doing it that way?
