My brother in law swears funny ads are dead now that everyone uses ad blockers, but I clicked 3 last week just because they were so dumb
We argued about this for 45 minutes at his place in Boise on Sunday. He says nobody clicks ads on purpose anymore, that it's all bots and accidental taps. I pulled up my history and showed him 3 ads I clicked in the past 7 days. One was for a mop that turns into a squirt gun. One was a local guy selling mystery boxes for $12. His take is that ads only work if they trick you, mine is that a weird enough ad makes you click out of plain curiosity. So which is it, are funny ads pointless, or do they still pull clicks?
