I Blew $400 on a "Proven" Ad Course That Taught Me One Thing I Already Knew
Last fall I saw this ad on a woodworking site for a course called "ClickBank Rockstar" or something like that. The ad had a picture of a guy in a rented Lamborghini holding a check for $47,000 and a countdown timer that reset every time I refreshed. I watched the free webinar, got hyped, and dropped $397 on the full course plus $50 for the "bonus" traffic guide. The whole thing was 14 hours of videos telling me to pick a niche, make a landing page, and run Facebook ads to a cheap product. That's it. No secret sauce, no magic button. I could have found all that info for free on any forum. The worst part is the upsells. After I paid, they kept emailing me about a $997 "inner circle" that was supposedly the real key. I did learn one useful thing though, the course showed me how to write a headline that actually gets clicks. So I took that skill and wrote a better ad for my own little side hustle selling vintage tool posters. That ad got me 12 sales in a weekend for $8 each. So I guess I made back about $96 of the $447 I lost. Has anyone else paid for one of these guru courses and actually gotten something worth the money? Or is it all just recycled free advice with a fancy wrapper?
