That stain on my garage floor looks like a bird, and I think that counts (my neighbor says it doesn't)
Last Thursday I spilled about half a cup of old motor oil in the corner of my garage in Akron and when it dried it made this shape with a big swoop and a little tail that honestly looks like a heron taking off. My neighbor Dave says an accident is only art if a person meant to make it, so a spill is just a spill. I say the whole point of this group is that nobody planned it, so why does a puddle of paint on a sidewalk get a pass but my oil bird gets called a mess? There's also the question of time: the stain is fading after 9 days of rain and sun, so does it stop being art when it's gone, or was it only ever art for a week? I want the rules spelled out, do we count it once it's on the ground, once someone takes a photo, or never at all? Which camp are you in, and can someone please settle it before Dave paints over it?
