Pro tip: that old guestbook on a dead fan site from 1999 is basically a free time capsule
I used to skip right past guestbook pages on abandoned sites thinking they were just empty forms, but after finding one on a dragon art page last updated in 2001 with 47 entries where people left their ICQ numbers and talked about dial up speeds, I realized those pages are often the only real voices left on a dead site, so does anyone else bookmark the guestbook before checking anything else?

Guestbooks usually died before the site did, not after.
